Curated by Randy Rosenberg and organized by the Committee of 100 for Tibet and The Dalai Lama Foundation. Welcome to our monthly newsletter, DZINE's attempt to bring attention to interesting projects, products and matters related to design. Our goal is to provide a 360 degree view of design, not only relating to furniture, interior design and architecture, but also art, product design and whatever else inspires us. With this newsletter we hope to inform you of new products and happenings at DZINE, but more importantly to provide another window into the design world from a different, wordly, perhaps unconventional perspective. We hope you enjoy it.
We wish everyone a prosperous and inspired 2008!

FOCUS
This month we would like to give special attention the death of one of the masters of architecture and design, Ettore Sottsass. He died on December 31st, 2007 at his home on Via San Tomaso in Milan.
"Italian postmodernist designer who brought meaning to everyday objects" is the title of this obituary from his office Sottsass associati. Also read the interview from September 7, 2000 from designboom (see on the left) and an article on his death in The New York Times.
His last exhibition "Vorrei sapere perche`" (I'd like to know why) is going to be in Trieste at the Salone degli Incanti dell’ex Pescheria (Italy) until March 2, 2008. "I am thinking of a small exhibition, but very emotional. I'd like to see people crying, with an emotion," were his words at the presentation.
